Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Daughter born: 6-17-2015 first dose of Prevnar 13: 8-21-2015 second dose of Prevnar 13: 12-3-2015 third dose of Prevnar 13: 1/8/2016 Literature says that dose #2 and #3 were given too close together. Any concerns? Can 4th dose be given now at any time?
Prevnar is generally given at 2,4,6 and 12 months from birth. If your child has already taken 3 doses, she can take the fourth dose 12 months from birth (when she is one year old). If she takes the fourth dose at one year of age than she is finishing the booster dose for pneumococcus and should be well covered.
I hope this is helpful and answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further assistance is needed.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General and Family Physician
