Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. my 1 year & 3 mos old dauther has dry ear wax and its blocking the ear canal and her dr gave her Otosporin 3 drops 4 times a day for 10 days and we are on the 4th day of doing this but i think the ear drops aren t dissolving the wax and its blocking the ear canal of my dauther. More or less how many days should i put Otosporin ear drops on my dauthers ear to see the result? I hope you can help me. Thank You
Otosporin ear drops contains a combination of antibiotics which helps in treating ear infections. This drops does not help in dissolving the wax. If dry wax is present, drops like clear wax should be used for one or two weeks and dissolved wax should be removed manually by syringing.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
