Suggest Dosage Of Prontogest For Spotting During Pregnancy

I'm 30 weeks and i have a pain like period pain, and also I have spotting from the beginning of my pregnancy. I'm now taking gynipral and the Dr told me to rest and take prontogest pessaries or injections. Is this right and what is the suitable dose for prontogest and when should I stop it?? also is it harmful for the baby

Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
POntogest pessary 200mg to 400mg daily once a day is indicated in case of risk of preterm delivery due to progesterone deficiency. ( Dose to be adjusted as per need by treating doctor .
It is usually given till the baby is viable ( > 37 weeks ) both developmentally/ physically. & the withdrawn about 1 week before planned delivery.( again to be decided & advised by treating doctor.. according to individual conditions of the patient )
Pontogest contains natural hormone Progesterone.. so there is no harm to baby.
