Suggest Dosage Of Valium For The Treatment Of Anxiety

I take 1mg xanax twice daily. Im going on vacation and I HATE flying. My doctor prescribed 10mg Valium? Is that enough? I have severe anxiety and I get very uncomfortable in small crowded areas. When should I start taking the Valium on the day of my flight?

Hello, my name is Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi. I understand your concerns.
Treatment for patients with anxiety should be initiated with a dose of 0.25 to 0.5 mg given three times daily. The dose may be increased to achieve a maximum therapeutic effect, at intervals of 3 to 4 days, to a maximum daily dose of 4 mg, given in divided doses.The risk of dependence may increase with dose and duration of treatment.
I think you should start a day before using xanax in divided doses.
If u never used this medication before start with the lowest dose.
