Suggest Effective Alternate Medicine For Clonazepam

Some psychiatrists will only prescribe clonazepam for short periods of time. Is there justification for continued use. I was on it for 3 yrs, taking less than prescribed, but it was discontinued due to current protocols. However substitutions are allowing panic attacks to recur, hydroxyzine and paroxetine aren t relieving it. Why discontinue clonazepam and suffer the shakes & tremors ?

It's an addictive controlled dangerous substance. Stopping it causes shakes, tremors, and in extreme cases seizures taht can be fatal. The shakes and tremors wear off in a week; the psychological dependency on it, a bit longer. Those would be reasons not to be on it.
Cognitive behavioral therapy will work on most panic attacks, various desires to use sedatives are less successfully treated with cognitive behavioral therapy.
