Hi, welcome to healthcaremagic. To prevent UTI, youshould drink a lot of water about 3-4liters in a day. Pass urine every 3 hourly and then wait for about 5minutes and then again pass urine. This is called double voiding which helps in cases where there is some residual urine remaining in the bladder which leads to be a source of infection. Also, get a urinalysis done and check for casts, crystals and glucose in the urine which if present may be a potential source of infection and may need to be tackled separately. Maintain local hygiene of the genitalia. Vaginal estrogen cream helps in reducing the vaginal dryness and is safe usually. If, there is a UTI again, please get a urine urine culture and urine smear microscopy done to look for the organism and based on the culture and sensitivity report, please take the antibiotics for apppropriate time duration. Hope you get well soon and remain healthy.
