Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am the owner of a preschool. One of our little guys is underweight and the mom said her pediatrician said he could eat anything he wanted to gain weight. i.e. Cookies, candy, packaged treats. I don t agree. I think he needs healthy fats and calories. Do doctors really advise more sugar?
I read carefully your query and understand your concern.
Some suggestions that I can give to weight in a child are: -Select higher calorie foods. -Drink lots of juice and low-fat milk. -Enjoy peanut butter, nuts, avocado, and olive oil. -Do strengthening exercise and eat frequent meals during the day
Hope my answer was helpful.
If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.
Kind regards!
