Hello,
Feeling of
dizziness or
lightheadedness, erection problems, headache, feeling drowsy, lack of energy,
fatigue, etc., are side effects of hypertensive medicines. You can talk to your treating doctor so that the doses can be monitored and the side effects get reduced. Since your husband has history of
hypertension, get him routine cardiac check up with the required blood workouts and investigations done to rule out any developing CAD. This is to stay on the safer side.
He will be treated according to any pathology detected. He should avoid addictions if any. Let him stay away from stress and
anxiety. Daily walking and exercises are a must. Blood pressure can be controlled by taking proper diet. He should avoid taking food that elevates blood pressure like high sodium diet, processed foods such as meats, sausage, bacon and ham. Frozen and packaged food, canned soups, chips, peanuts and potatoes. He should include natural food that lowers BP in daily diet like cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, garlic, parsley, basil & moringa.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
