Suggest Home Remedies For Eye Infection

Need to know a home remedy for a slight eye infection. Just noticed today a green discharge. Been have a slimy white mucus film that sometimes pools in the inner corner of my eye, and I ve found it spread across my eye....The only other simptom is it feels like something it my eye.....

Infection of the eyes is more commonly viral or bacterial though fungal or parasitic infection can rarely occur.

If it is viral, it would resolve at home but if there is a bacterial infection present , antibiotic eye drops would be needed.
These would need to be prescribed.

Viral infections resolve with only eye hygiene meaning clearing the discharge with a clean piece of cloth or clean cotton, wiping away from the eye.
