I cough uncontrollably when talking. It s just one very short cough but really annoying as I don t know if it will happen when I first started talking or while I am talking. I ve taken some over the counter cough syrup (Robitussin) and tablets (Tylenol) but none helped. I ve consulted with my primary physician and diagnosed post nasal drip. I was given medication but it didn t help. Is there any home remedies that I could try or things that I should avoid?
Let me know whether your cough is dry or wet? For postnasal drip Levocetirizine like decongestant can be taken. Your work-up done as follows: • Posterior pharynx examination • If voice affected do indirect laryngoscopy • Throat swab if needed • CBC • Chest x-ray if needed after auscultation • If CBC shows high count with neutrophilia then antibiotic course is prescribed • Take 1 tsp turmeric powder in hot milk daily early in morning • Steam inhalation done 3 times a day • Take 1 tsp ginger juice and 1 tsp honey. Mix it and take it in evening
