Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a sinus infection, I think it is not a cold, I know that. What is a good home remedy, that I can do ? I feel a small powder in my throat it is hard for me to breath. It's a white mucus and sometimes green or even yellow, please help me. I have tried Musinex and cold tablets.
As per your complain if you have sinus infection that is also causing mucous running down the throat also known as Post nasal drip then it home remedies will not provide complete and permanent relief..
You should therefore consult an ENT Physician and get evaluated...
You will be given a course of antibiotics that is first line treatment to reduce Infection that will help in curing Sinusitis..
Along with it decongestant nasal spray like Xylometazoline or Oxymetazoline can help in reducing congestion..
As far as home remedies are concerned do steam inhalation, use a humidifier in your room.. Do warm compresses around nostrils.. Do warm saline gargle.. Do saline nasal irrigation.. Take plenty of warm fluids.. Avoid spicy foods and air conditioned rooms...
Hope this helps..
Regards..
