Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have exzema in my ears. I see an ENT every three months so he can clean them out, but I just saw him a couple of weeks ago and they are already getting bad. Last time I had a fungus he had to treat too. I would like them not to get so bad this time. Is there something I can do for home care?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of eczema in ears, symptoms you mention in query occur due to many reasons like ear canal dermatitis , which is a kind of allergic reaction or otitis media ( ear infection ) . But it seems to me that in your case the symptoms are due to allergic reaction. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take antihistamine like benadryl and keep your ear dry . Consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may examine ear with otoscope , order certain test like allergy test , CT scan and blood tests to rule out ear infection . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics , corticosteroid ear drops and anti inflammatory. Avoid touching or pricking ears with sharp object.
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
