Suggest Home Treatment For Red Blotches Around The Ankle

I developed red blotches around my ankles while on a trip. We did a lot of walking for two days and I did not do a good job of keeping myself hydrated. This is new to me. Thoughts for home treatment? I have been drinking a lot of water the last two days

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The excess walking with increased pressure on the ankles and lack of adequate hydration would have contributed to your symptoms.

If the area was hot then there would also be dilation of blood vessels as well which would contribute to the red areas. Rest, fluids and cool environment would help with resolution.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
