Suggest Lower Price Medicine Brand Other Than Actigall
My son has a precription for Actigall. The pharmacy called me to say that the price increased from $40 to $1,000, and my insurance will not cover the cost. He said it was due to pharmocological company mergers, leading to a monopoly. Is there another brand that is lower cost. My son will die without it (he has surgically-repaired biliary atresia), and I do not have the money for this.

hello.i read your query and i can empathise with your condition that medical bills and pharmacy bills can be very expensive.
actigall is basically ursodiol which is a bile acid.i understand actigall is very expensive.other options you can look up are generic ursodiol 250mg or 300mg if available at your native place and another brand which is relatively cheaper than actigall would be urso containing the same medicine at almost half the price of actigall.
I generally dont suggest brand names,but i can understand your helplessness and these are pretty much the ones out there.
you can go for urso if it suits your budget.also if you have relatives or friends in other parts of the world,do ask them because ursodiol is cheaper at many places
