Hi,

Eczema could be due to allergy, exposure to irritants or can be seen in families. I advise you to:
- Apply moisturising cream twice daily immediately after taking bath
- Use topical steroid creams such as fluticasone
- Avoid contact of skin with woollen clothes
- Antihistamines in case of allergy
- In severe cases, wet wraps, ultraviolet radiation, immuno-suppressive drugs such as cyclosporin A and vitamin A derivatives can be given

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Yogapriya Vasudevan, General & Family Physician
