Hi: colofac 135 mg, also know as mebeverine hydrochloride, treatment for IBS, drug available in the UK but not US is my understanding. Is it available in Mexico or Switzerland or is there another drug for IBS that works as well? YYYY@YYYY
Colofac (Mebeverine hydrochloride) is presently not available in USA, as it has not been approved by FDA till date. However, several drugs are available for use in IBS in USA. The medicines available in USA for IBS are Alosetron, Eluxadoline, Lubiprostone, Rifaximin and Linaclotide. Also Mebeverine hydrochloride is available in Mexico and Switzerland under the brand name Duspatalin-135, Duspatalin-200 and Duspatalin Retard.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
