Hi i have pcos. I have currently been taking primolut to get my period, 2 tablets for 14 days. and clomid to ovulate from day 2 to 6 of my period and also 2 tablets of metformin daily. my last period was on the 18th november 2015. after that time i had a ultrasound on my abdominal area for a hospital refferal on the 18th of december 2015. The lady who did my scan advised me i had a very large dominant egg. After 2 days i took a pregnancy test and it came back negative. So then i started to take primolut to get my period. I took primolut 2 tablets a day for 14days. I was supposed to get my period roughly on the 4th of january 2016. I waited a while and still didnt get my period. I started to feel very sick. So i did a pregnancy test on 12th of january 2016. There was 1 strong line and then the other line was very faint. I then went and got a hcg blood test on the 13th january 2016. I got my results on the 14th of january 2016 and it came back positive. My hcg levels are 13500. Which is roughly 6 weeks pregnant. I have a ultrasound booked for january the 19th. Will my baby be ok?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I have read your description and understand your concern. Based on the hCG levels, it is indicating that you have conceived. Exact duration of pregnancy is only possible to tell by means of ultrasound scan, which has been scheduled. Once it is confirmed, one more scan would be advised between 7 to 9 weeks to detect the appearance of cardiac activity, which says that the pregnancy is viable. Further, follow-ups to be undertaken as necessary and advised. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
