Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, On Tuesday I suffered what my doctor (via the phone too busy to see me) considered to be an SAH and instructed me to call 999 for an immediate ambulance. They took me to my local hospital where I was kept waiting for 4 hours in Major Cases of the ER for a CT scan, which never materialised so I discharged myself (still with the headache). Today (day 3) my head is still a little sore but nowhere as bad as it was. Don t know what to do or how to ascertain whether or not I suffered an SAH. My doctor has no time for 3 weeks to offer me an appointment. Can you give me any advice? Jackie Moore (70 years old)
I am so sorry to hear about this suspected SAH. It is impossible that you suffered this intra-cranial hemorrhage or at worse it was a very minute hemorrhage. Yor headaches are probably caused by another condition like migraines, tension, etc but hemorrhage is very unlikely as this is rapidly progressive and can be fatal. Symptoms(intensity and evolution) are not suggestive either. What drugs have you tried for this headaches?
I hope this helps. I wish you well.
