Suggest Medication For A Bump On The Neck

I have a bump on back upper right side of neck that huge and hard as a rock whole right side upper and lower neck is sore amd getting stiff now pain is going down to right shouler. My husband squeeze some bright green pus out. What do i need to do wjat could it be

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have bump on the neck. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like contact dermatitis , skin infection , eczema, bug bite and other medical condition. The bump can also occur due to lymphadenitis or swelling of gland . I would suggest you to stop using any cosmetic product. You should only apply petroleum jelly and apply warm compresses on it . You should take over the counter antihistamine medication like benadryl. Consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor will examine physically , take history , order skin test for allergy and blood test. Doctor may order corticosteroid ointment, anti allergic medicine, antibiotics and may alter the dose of zolpidem or prescribe substitute. Doctor may also refer you to ENT specialist for sore throat or other infection .
