HI. am from India, 27 Yrs of married women, my last period date was on 15th Dec'2011, am now 5-6 weeks pregnant. to avoid early pregnancy i had consumed Catalog tablets, by which i got very little bleeding & little plum. again i did PT which showed positive. please suggest medical termination pills. thanks
For termination of pregnancy up to 9 weeks gestation, Tab. Mifepristone and Tab. Misoprostol combination is used. These are very safe and effective tablets and have very good success rate in terminating the pregnancy. They have to be taken with the prescription and advice of an Obstetrician. If they fail to terminate the pregnancy, the pregnancy should not be continued as these medicines cause abnormalities in the baby.
In such cases surgical termination of pregnancy is the option.
For larger duration pregnancies, the same medicines can be used, however the dosage and mode of administration differs. You should take your Obstetrician's advice before attempting termination of pregnancy after 9 weeks of gestation.
I hope this helps you.
