Suggest Medication For Acne
Acne or Herpes?! Hi Dr.! I have Herpes from my ex-boyfriend. Since then, I started taking 1500 mg of Lysine & "Emergen-C" vitamin pack everyday just to prevent those horrible outbreak. During outbreak, I take 3000 mg of Lysine & 2 packs of Emergen-C, & use salt to clean that area. I'm not sure if I'm having Herpes cuz I have lack of sleep lately & I just have period. However, the pump that I have that around my lip got dried up with a bit redness on the 3rd day (today). It looks like a pimple to me but there's no cut. I squeezed it yesterday & it looked like whitehead. I'm really worry if that is Herpes cuz I just kissed my boyfriend & I hope he didn't get it. Please help me, thank u! RY
P.S. Also, I don't know if Lysine & Emergen-C vitamin really help me preventing those outbreak. People from online said it works, but to me, it's more like 50/50...

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of acne outbreak which could be multifactorial. Need no to worry. It could be due to herpes infection, allergic reaction, hormonal changes, stress and change in lifestyle at times. I would suggest you to apply combination of clindamycin gel during day time and Adapalene gel at night time. Application of Topical retinoids will be helpful to you along with topical benzoyl peroxide. You should take oral antibiotics such as doxycycline, azithromycin or minocycline to prevent further exaggeration. Visit dermatologist once and get it examined and you can go for another session of chemical peeling/ laser therapy only after proper prescription. Take diet rich in multivitamins. Drink plenty of water. Wash your face frequently several times during the day with plain water.
