Suggest Medication For An Infection On The Scrotum
Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here..., hi there doc, about 2 yrs ago i had a small patch of irritation swelling redness and dryness on my left side of the scrotum that would somtimes be bad but other times not, now this small patch has turned into the whole scrotum and is made worse if i use soap around the genital area. What would be the correct treatment for this?
Hi. Thanks for your query. A small patch of irritation , swelling, redness, dryness on the left side of the scrotum could have been a sort of dematitis of some sort. With the super-added infection of bacterial or fungal origin this might have spread to other area of the scrotum. I would advise you the following: Stop the soap strictly. Consult a Dermatologist. Do not apply anything till seen by a Dermatologist. You can apply plain water to clean the area and at the most apply liquid povidone iodine if there are wounds or oozing to avoid secondary infection of the skin.
