Suggest Medication For Chronic Spine Pain Despite Taking Physiotherapy

DOC, I ve been on 3 different types of OPOID S over the past 15 years to include, OXY 80mg,in both tab and liquid form , MORPHINE 100mg in both tab and liquid form equivalency,METHADONE liquid. And then back to MORPHINE 100mg tap , and now currently on 60mg MORPHINE along with a break through med of 75mg NORCO. The first 8+ years I also was taking a breakthrough med of HP VICODEN. I am beginning treated for multiple SPINE Injuries as well as CERVICAL FUSION SURGERY. I ve also gone through many years of physical therapy as well , which did help some, but the current med therapy mentioned above is not working or helping at all, being the 60mg of MORPHINE and the breakthrough med NORCO 75mg. What MEDICATION therapy would you suggest. Thank YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND CONSIDERATION.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As the opioids are not relieving pain to a better extent so far as pain score is concerned, it is strongly recommended to consult interventional pain specialist for epidural analgesia is the best option to proceed ahead after fresh MRI evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
