Suggest Medication For Cough, congestion And Joint Pains
I was on prednisone and generic keflex. I finished taking the prednisone on Tuesday and finished the antibiotic on Thursday. Once I finished the steroids I began experiencing side effects from the antibiotic: tired, nauseous, dizziness, and some joint pain. The nausea stopped now that I am no longer taking the antibiotics but now I have a cough and chest congestion. I am still tired and feel like I have joint pain but I think it may be from the congestion. Could the antibiotics have caused the chest congestion? It just started yesterday and is worse today. I was on the antibiotic and steroids because of my allergies.
Hi thanks for using healthcare magic The symptoms must have started as a result of viral infection, which could be cause if aches and pain... Later a secondary infection must have setin.Thats why the doctor prescribed antibiotics. The infection will be settled with antibiotics. But the reactive airway will take sometime to get settled.. You must have had a severe respiratory signs..Hence the doctor started with steroids..Steroids can reduce the inflammation and reactive airway symptoms.Dont stop the steroids abruptly ,we have to taper the dose and stop.... For chest tightness you can use inhalational and oral bronchodilators. Combination of steroid and bronchodilator will be more effective.. thank you....
