Suggest Medication For Delay In Periods

Hi i took contraceptive pill as while having sex condom ruptured and my periods were about to come on 8-9 feb but it doesn t. I am having pain in my lower stomach from last 4-5 days but still periods does not occur. Do i need to worry if my periods are this much late or i am worried of it doesn t occur?

Hi,

Thanks for the query,

It is unfortunate that the condom ruptured. However it is not clear from the query about the dosage of the contraceptive pills that were taken and when they were taken after the ruptured condom.

If you had this during ovulatory period and pills chances of pregnancy are there. So please check the date of your last period and dose and timing of the emergency contraceptive.

I suggest that you get a urine pregnancy test done after 3-4 days to rule out pregnancy. If the test is negative, tablet meprate for three days may be taken after prescription by a doctor. The periods will come within the next seven days after finishing the tablets.

The abdominal cramping may indicate a period but if you are stressed periods tend to get delayed so please do not worry.
