Hi.. Most common cause for swelling and dent over the scalp following head trauma is the soft tissue injury. soft tissue injury will heal by itself. In you scenario- since you have only soft tissue injury with no features of head injury do not worry it will subside by itself. things to do- 1) do not rub the injuried site. 2) take diclofenac 50mg twice daily ( if your asthmatic take paracetamol 500mg twice/thrice daily) for pain. 3) take serriopeptidase/trypsin and chymotrypsin twice a day to reduce the swelling. 4) Cold compression will help. 5) if any open wound present take oral antibiotics and inj tetanus toxoid as prophylaxis.
