Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been diagnosed with shingles on my upper chest. I have been on medicine for the full round. I have dry skin on the outside corner of my eye, something that I noticed before the shingles. The doctor does not think they are related. My other eye now seems to be red but not dry yet. What is the best cream for dry skin close to the eyes?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of dry skin around the eyes which seems as sunburn also known as "melanoma". Sun act as a trigger factor for melanocytes to produce melanin pigment that causes dark spots . The severely burned skin appears dry and scaly. I would suggest you to give cold compresses to skin for 10 minutes twice a day. Apply broad spectrum sunscreen with SPF 15 which going outside in sun exposure. Apply kojic acid cream twice a day for one month. If condition persist for more than a month . Then consult dermatologist for proper evaluation and rule out causes like skin infection or allergic reaction. Doctor may prescribe hydroquinone or tretinoin cream.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
