my son had an ear infection and is finishing up his liquid amoxacillin! He now has a bad cough so my sister gave him some codeine. He has red little bumps all over his body, but earlier he was playing in the grass with my nephew. Are his red bumps from bugs in the grass or are they affects from the medicine my sister gave him. Should I take him to emergency room?
As per yor query your son has ear infection and body rashes after taking codeine . Well the symptoms you mention in query could be due to two possible reasons either it can be due to allergic reaction due to grass or bug bite or it can be due to codeine as one of its side effects . I would suggest you to keep him hydrate and give plenty of fluids and proper rest . If condition doesn't get improved or worsen like more rashes and difficulty in breathing then take him to emergency without any delay to prevent from anaphylactic reaction . For ear infection consult ENT specialist again for proper examination and prescription of stronger antibiotics . The important this is to keep ear dry .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
