Suggest Medication For Fever, Cough And Vomiting In A Toddler

My 14 month has been having fevers of about 38-40degree celsius..coughing with phlegm and vomiting. .refuses to eat for past 2days and the doc said he cnt see anything wrong..prescribed celestamine..what else can I give my son? The fever has been for 3 days and coughing for about 2 weeks

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of fever, cough and vomiting in a toddler , which is due to Upper Respiratory Tract Infection also known as Common Cold and as it is Viral infection .I would suggest you to give her anti allergic like Benadryl, Crocin syrup.Put saline nasal spray, give her Steam inhalation and use a humidifier in her room.

Consult pediatrician for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe proper course of antiviral medication such Acyclovir.

- Drink plenty of fluids to rehydrate body.

- Give your baaby proper rest.

- You should do tepid sponging if fever increases.
