Hi Thanks for posting on HCM The treatment of fever depends on cause.Depending on the associated symptoms, the cause of fever may be known. In some cases, blood tests like malaria test, blood culture and other tests may be needed to identify the causative agent. In most cases, it is caused by a bacteria infection and will justify the use of antibiotics. The effectiveness of treatment may not be evaluated immediately you stat treatment.I will suggest you try the following: -Continue with drugs as prescribed -Reduce the child's dresses -Give the child a fresh bath -Use cold wet compresses or towel on her forehead occasionally -Give her enough fluids If fever persist you see the Doctor for reevaluation as the germ in cause may not be responding to the molecule and other lines of antibiotics may be tried or better still, a culture and sensitivity test may be requested. Hope this will help Best regards
