Suggest Medication For Greenish Diarrhea In An Infant
Hi Dr, my baby girl is just 5 months and had greenish diarrhea with NO fever yesterday and today morning (4 times / day) , vomited twice initially but it settled. Diarrhea is not smelly as well. Now color become yellow and frequency is less (2-3 times/ day) and volume also is less. Can I give Bifilac sachet? If so what will be the dosage? Thank you. Dr. Umasha Hemachandra (Veterinary surgeon)
The presentation of your baby girl is absolutely suggestive of viral infection causing diarrhea. It is best recommended to: - Maintain hydration with oral rehydration salt pediatric sachets - Proper amount and frequency of breast feeding - Bifilac sachets twice a day - Take care that she does not put fingers or toys like stuffs in mouth which can raise the infection chances more
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
