Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For the past 2 weeks I have experience heart burn so bad. It happens with everything I eat or drink. It starts in the middle of my chest and tightens and just hurts so badly. It feels like it goes up my chest and causes my teeth to clinch and my temples to hurt. I have experienced heart burn before but nothing like this.
You can take antacid tablets like Pantop or Omez or Rantac and Gelusil syrup. Apart from this follow some tips such as:
1. Do not eat spicy food. 2. Take little food at frequent intervals. Breakfast around 8 a.m., small snack at 11 a.m., lunch at 1 p.m., small snack at 4 p.m., and dinner at 8 p.m. 3. Drink plenty of water. 4. Do not smoke, take alcohol or tobacco and even excess of coffee and tea. 5. Do not take much of stress. Stress aggravates gastritis. 6. Do regular exercise. Atleast half an hour per day. 7. Learn meditation techniques. 8. Follow this regularly for 21 days. It is said that anything you practice regularly for 21 days, it becomes a habit.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
