Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have hemolytic anemia and my hemoglobin levels drop periodically over the last year or two. I have been on prednisone for a long time and it is no longer helping. After I have been off prednisone for three weeks, my blood levels are dropping a point weekly. My doctor has told me that he thinks I should be on Rituxan, but I am not certain as to whether this will really help me. what other drug treatments can help me with my condition of hemolytic anemia . Do you have any suggestions? thank you. bea murdakes

As per your case, you are most probably suffering from autoimmune hemolytic anemia. If prednisolone is not working at all then go according to your doctor advise.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
