Suggest Medication For Hypothyroidism

I am 42 years old , my wife is 43 years old we are married since last one year. my wife has hypothyrodism , she on medication and its under control, she is obese , has uterine fibroids and has normal menstrual cycle. we want to have our baby but conception has not occured. Advice

Hi,

Regarding your thyroid illness if you are planning for pregnancy, your TSH values should be below 2.5 miu/l. You may have to increase the dose of thyroxine during pregnancy.

Regarding pregnancy if her menstrual cycles are normal and the fibroids are not preventing pregnancy male factor should be evaluated. Usual initial tests needed is a semen analysis. If it is abnormal consult an endocrinologist or reproductive specialist.
