Suggest Medication For Itchy, Red And Flaky Welts Like Rashes On The Body
my B/F has some time of rash with welts. The face is red and flaky and goes down to the neck,then it spreads to the arms-which it turns into welts. It also is on his back,some areas of his legs also. He was in the hospital and giving antibotics. They did not work..He has a dermatologist apt on the 12th of Dec..Also,it seems itchy also. He cant wait that long to be seen. The itchy and the drying of the face is driving him crazy..Any help would help..Any cream or something to ease this,would be helpful aslo..Thank you so much

Thanks for your question. I do understand your pain and discomfort. I have seen many cases with similar complaints. Please find my advice below-:
1)Take Prednisone 30 mg day 1 then taper 5 mg per day upto 21 tabs reach
2)Take Omalizumab 150 mg SC once every month
3)Do Blood DC and WBC count & renal function test
4)Do stool exam to ruled out any parasitic infection present
5)Do fasting blood sugar & TSH to ruled out endocrine diseases.
