Suggest Medication For Missed Periods Due To Follicles In Ovary
Hello, My husband and I are trying to conceive. I was on the Implanon birth control implant for 4 years. I had it taken out 6 months ago. I ve not had a period since then. My Gynecologist but me on estrogen last month for 10 days and 3 day later, I started my period. I have not had it this month. My doctor did a ultrasound on me and she said that she can see a follicle on my right ovary so I ve not ovulated yet. Is there any way I can start my period with OTC meds?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. There is no overt the counter medications for ovulation. Drugs like clomiphene citrate helps to ovulate. It is better to have a regular follow up with your Gynecologist. She/he may give you hcg injections to induce ovulation also. Additional clomiphene citrate and hormonal drugs may help also. But it should be taken under strict guidance of your treating Gynecologist.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
