Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a little buzzed and I was breaking up wood for a fire in flip flops no less but half hour later notice a cut on top of foot along with a large bump don t hurt much but should I get it checked out or just continue icing it don t think this matters but I live in south western dessert area
Thanks for asking at Healthcare Magic. I read your question and I understand your concern. If the wound is clean and you have been vaccinated for tetanus then there is no need of tetanus toxoidvaccine, Otherwise if it's dirty then you need tetanus toxoid plus immunoglobulin. Take Advil or Mortin for pain and swelling, keep your foot elevated. Daily wash wound with saline and Pyodine. Hope it helps best. Don't forget to rate this answer and Close the discussion at Healthcare Magic. Take your best care. Regards Dr Ejaz
