Suggest Medication For Pain At The Site Of Wisdom Tooth Extraction
I had my wisdom teeth extracted 6 weeks ago. They had to drill to get one out. That is the area I still have pain. The area is pink and looks normal but my soft tissue, muscle is sore. I'm suspecting it's an infection. Is cephalexin strong enough? I've been on it 6 days with no improvement.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain pain and sore muscles 6 weeks after wisdom tooth extraction is an abnormal finding and there seems to be either unhealed socket or infection in that area or there can also be any left out root piece..
You should consult an Oral Surgeon and get evaluated and he can advise you an x ray to rule out the exact cause for the symptoms so that he can plan the treatment as per the cause..
As of now do warm saline gargles and anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen for pain relief. Take a soft diet.
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
