Suggest Medication For Painful Foot Blisters

Thanx for the support. My problem is my feet--the bottoms. Due to bad shoes and walking with heavy loads, I get BLISTERS on them. Nowo over 70, I break the blisters, but they are still sore and painful to walk on. Need a remedy to reduce swelling and prevent more . I wear sneakers, which help, but need a relief for the blisters. Help. YYYY@YYYY . (10/16).

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Wash the footwell with antibacterial, apply antibiotic ointments like Neosporin or Silverex/ Soframycin. Take Analgesic to reduce the pain & inflammation.

Keep your foot under rest. Use moisture wicking socks, use comfortable shoe insoles. Apply antiseptic bandage loosely to protect the wound from any infection.

Visit ER, get Nerve Conduction tests done, to rule out any developing peripheral neuropathy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
