Suggest Medication For Painful Tendons In Feet While On Losartan Potassium And Simvastatin
my husbands dr. has him taking allopurinol 100mg 2 tabs a day, and prednisone 10 mg. todays last day on that one and hes also taking losartan potassium 50mg and simvastatin 2omg one of each per day, what safe pain meds can he take for his pain in his tendions in his feet.
Normally allopurinol is advised, when you are having raised uric acid level, Losartan to treat hypertension and simvastatin to treat or prevent the raised lipid levels etc. Prednisone is a steroid and might have been given to him for controlling the symptoms of pain and inflammation etc. As this is the last dose of prednisone. But he may stop it in a gradual tapering dose like 5mg 3-5 days, then 2.5 mg for next 3-5 days before completely weaning off the drug. In the meantime, he can take some other analgesic / anti-inflammatory drug like Tylenol or Ibuprofen etc., to control pain in his tendons.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Satnarain Bansal, General & Family Physician
