Suggest Medication For Prolonged Cough And Sinus Infection

Have had a cough and sinus infection since Christmas Eve. Been taking Mucinex and nettie pot and sinex nasel spray, but still have same symptons. Is there anything else I can do?

I'm sorry, I work for Wyndham and was told this is a free service. I don't know how to access that service.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns.

As per your complain in case if you have sinus infection it can cause post nasal drip that can irritate the throat and initiate cough..
While other causes of coughing can be upper respiratory tract infection, bronchitis, chest infection etc..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngoloist and get evaluated and he can do a thorough clinical evaluation and also advise you to get investigations done like PNS View x ray or MRI scan of sinuses, chest x ray etc for confirmation of cause..
He can advise you to take antibiotics like Augmentin, anti-inflammatory painkiller like advil, decongestants like Phenylephrine, anti allergics like levocetrizine, cough expectorant containing Guaifenesin or Dextromethorphan, warm saline gargles, steam inhalations and use a humidifier in your room..
Saline nasal irrigations and steroid nasal spray can relieve..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
