Suggest Medication For Prolonged Ear Ache

I have had a problem with my ear for 3 years now, I have been under the hospital and have had 2 grommits fitted, to no avail. My symptons are, my ear feels like it does when you are on a plane and you can t clear it. I seem to have constant phlgem or mucus. I am 61 years old and it driving me insane, I use a nasal spray all the time. Barbara

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you have blocked eustachian tubes leading to Clogged feeling nd it is due to constant phlegm or mucous which leads to ccumulation of the phlegm in eustachian tubes that is a direct communicating tube between the back of nose/throat and middle ear..
In case if there is constant phlegm buildup, the blockage will occur ..
As you have grommets fitted, there is a possibility that they might have fallen by now..
I would suggest you to consult an ENT surgeon and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and otoscopy can help..
You can be advised antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkillers, and oral as well as nasal decongestants..
Surgical drainage of ears can also be done to relieve clogging..
Taking mucolytics like Ambroxol and cough expectorant like Gueifenesin can help in clearing excess mucous formation..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
