Suggest Medication For Recurring Cold Sores Or Mouth Herpes
Hello, Ive been getting cold sores (mouth herpes) since I was a kid, I got tested to see if I actually have Mouth Herpes and I do. Ive been taking Lysine for 2 years and Vitamin A recently. They ve been working but about a week ago, I got 2 at the same time, then they went away and another appeared. Is there any medicine that will 100% keep them away? But also wont make my mom go broke. Thanks, Cassie a 15 year old
First of all I would suggest you to consult an Infectious Medicine specialist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical examination and investigations like viral culture, antigen antibody reaction to confirm the cause..
In case if herpes is confirmed you need to start taking anti-viral medication like Acyclovir, Valacyclovir while topical anti-viral ointments can also help. As it is a contagious disease you should keep your belongings like glasses, cups, towels separately as it can transmit to others.. Intimate contact should also be avoided..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
