Suggest Medication For Red Spots On The Cheek And Under The Eyes

Hello, I'm 21 years old and I have problems with skin for approximately one year. At first small red spots appear on my left cheek near the hair( I forgot to tell you that I'm a female and I have long hair) in that period I don't pay enough attention because they weren't seen because of my hair, after 2 or 3 months I started to breakout( on the same cheek but now under the eyes) there was a few acne but they were big and deep under the skin, so painful and ichting and also very red. At the same time the spots near the hair suddenly disappear.

Hello. Thank you for writing to us

After going through your history it appears to me that the red spots near anterior hair line were part of seborrheic dermatitis.
Seborrheic dermatitis can affect the scalp and hair line with red, scaly patches which are usually itchy.
The bumps on face are most likely inflammatory acne. Inflammatory acne is red, painful and itchy.
Acne and dandruff frequently co-exist. The basic underlying factor in both these conditions is over active sebaceous glands.
The condition is chronic and as can be judged you have had acne for about an year.
If I was the treating doctor I would have suggested Oral antiacne antibacterials like either doxycycline, minocycline or azithromycin for inflammatory acne.
Topically you may use either clindamycin or benzoyl peroxide for active acne during day time.
At night I suggest you to use a topical retinoid e.g adapalene gel over the whole affected area.
Retinoids are antiinflammatory as well as comedolytic and are first lien topical agents for treatment of acne.
Apart from antiacne treatment you must also use an antifungal antidandruff shampoo e.g Nizoral is available OTC and can be used every alternate days.
I suggest that you visit a dermatologist. Your dermatologist will assess the severity of your acne and advice accordingly.
