Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Suggest Medication For Reflux And Esophageal Spasms
I have been diagnosed with reflux and esophageal spasms. I ve been on at least 4 medications, none if which are helping relieve all of the fullness and indigestion in my chest. Should I be concerned that there could be another health issue? Also, do some of the ppi drugs affect blood pressure?
If there is no improvement at all with the use of 4 different medications then there may be another underlying issue. It is also possible that food or drink used is contributing - broccoli, cabbage, turnips, beans, carbonated drinks, cauliflower - these are examples of some of the foods that can cause bloating. PPI meds do not commonly affect blood pressure but persons respond differently to medications.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
