Hello,my mother has rheumatoid artheiritis for about 6 years. What medications and/or food changes do you suggest? She does not eat any allergitic items like onion, potato, peanuts, wheat products, etc. Her food consists of some rice, milk and mild vegetable curry like ridge gourd, radish , tomato and snake gourd.

Hello, my name is Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi. I understand your concern.
Some medications for arthritis can be :
-Topical Pain Relievers fastum gel
-Anti-inflammatory Painkillers (NSAIDs) for example naproxen
-Acetaminophen is available without a prescription and is a commonly used pain reliever for people with arthritis.
-Steroids are powerful anti-inflammatory drugs that can treat many forms of arthritis
-Disease-Modifying Antirheumatic Drugs (DMARDs):These drugs are often able to alter the course of some forms of inflammatory arthritis.
