Suggest Medication For Runny Nose With Pressure In Nose And Throat

I know it s just a bad cold, but I ve had a runny nose for 5-6 hours. Blowing, meds, and irrigation haven t stopped it, thought the irrigation helped. Now, unless I m constantly blowing it(Softly blowing into a tissue), pressure builds up and it feels like it s going to discharge into the back of my throat or down onto my tongue. I know it s kinda gross, but also, blowing it now makes me vomit, maybe because too much mucus has gone down the back of my throat and the stress and situation is aggravating it. Is there any quick fix or medication? I m a student and I have imperative classes tomorrow, but I can t go with a hose nose. Please help.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The use of a topical and oral decongestant would help to relieve your congestion.

Topical decongestants include xylometazoline, oxymetazoline, normal saline.

Oral decongestants include pseudoephredine, phenylephrine.
These are normally combined with oral anti histamine with may also help.

I hope this helps
