Hi doctor! I had some scars on my face left there by pimples. I bleached my face and now they are red angry marks on my face. They hurt a lot and they burn when i put something on them. I put some ointment on, but saw no difference. They look like wounds and they look horrible. I put some ascorbic acid serum before going to sleep at night. What would you recommend?
Surely you have unintentionally caused them to burn and irritate, by using bleaching cream and citric juice, while you were hoping to fade them.
I would suggest, that you use moderately potent topical steroid cream e.g fluticasone propionate twice daily for 5 days to let the irritation, redness and discomfort to subside.
Thereafter you may use a cream containing one or more of the skin lightening agents like kojic acid, glycolic acid, hydroquinone etc once or twice daily.
You can also opt for a few glycolic peeling session from a dermatologist to gradually fade them away.
regards
