Suggest Medication For Severe Cough And Congestion

I am 33-year-old female. About 3 weeks ago she developed a really bad cold with rhinorrhea. The cold seemed to go away but then i developed a profound, deep, mucus-producing cough. Now, there is no rhinorrhea or rhinitis but cough is a problem . I get these coughing fits that are prolonged, very deep, and productive of a lot of green sputum. No fever but I have a scratchy throat.

HI welcome to the health care magic

Your symptoms should not be ignored and work up done in following way....
-Auscultation
-CBC
-Chest x ray
-sputum examination if needed

You should be given proper broad spectrum antibiotic as symptom since three week

For congestion relief phenylephrine like drug needed

If wet cough more than Ambroxol syrup can be prescribed..

Steam inhalation done three times a day
Salt water gargle helpful

Avoid mucus forming excess spicy foods

If no improvement than sputum examination and culture needed

Take care

Consult physician or pulmonologoist for examination
