Suggest Medication For Soreness And Swelling In The Throat

Recovering from a sinus infection. Took 3 500mg Azithromycin. Feeling better but the soar throat and sense of swelling remains. My mucus was never a darker color but the back of my throat was yellow with patches of red and white. I noticed that the roof of my mouth has turned yellow which is what concerns me.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi

Welcome in HCM.

I understand your concern and it appears as you are suffering from infective sore throat involving your uvula and tonsils.

Though you have taken Azithromycin for three days and feeling better also, but since infection is still persisting so you may continue it for two days more or take some other antibiotic with the consent of your doctor.

Beside antibiotics you may also do-

1- Warm saline gargling.

2- Anti inflammatory.

3- Antacids with PPI.

I hope this will help you much and you will recover soon.

Thanks for consulting HCM.
